Around the time of establishment Citizenship Studies, historians had a straightforward picture what it was, and how developed. been invented in Ancient Greece, where philosophers like Aristotle outlined its main features, which remained basically unchanged until twentieth century. was male prerogative, closely related to political participation for long only available Europeans.
